Oh, there are lots of famous people who I'd consider icons of leadership, industry, or history. People, who we might agree made big changes in the world. But this tribute does not belong to any person. It belongs to our four legged friend. The animal that shaped our history and forged pathways in the hearts and minds of an entire population of humans. This tribute is for the mighty horse. And we must celebrate a mighty Thanksgiving for this wonderful animal.
Thanks for reading. Thanks for being a partner for horses who need partners. Feel free to share and comment below.

Thank you for a very well written and thought-out poem, brought a tear or two to my eyes! As you reminded us of the war horses in history, I thought momentarily about General Washington and his ever faithful “Old Blue”
Horses are therapy to so many including me.

Bears repeating: “Perhaps, as a gift, we bring her a future with companions who see even deeper.
True partners, with kind, leader-like hands, saving a place in our hearts to keep her.” True reciprocity ;D

Yes, all this and more, as, when she stands close to you while you minister to her. You catch her glorious eyes looking deeply at you, shining with love, ready to move out when ever you say.

Beautifully said and well articulated. Really enjoyed how you touched down through time on the role the horse has played in historical events. The horse is a true gift to all humanity from God. I’ve often reflected on this very thing, and on the mission of the dog as well.
